September 12th, 2006 - Lawn

Yes, this is a waaay late post, but I did want to post some pictures of when we first put in our new lawn. I know, it's out of order, and seems a little silly after the fact, but what the heck...
They actually used a hydromulch, which is supposed to absorb water and keep the seeds moist. It's also nice because you can tell when you need to rewater the seed, since the color turns into a faded greed when it's dry.
The first night that the lawn was put in, we had a quick 10 minute complete downpour that made some of the mulch drain into the sidewalk. Only 10 minutes and we already had bare patches in our non-existent lawn! sigh...
Anyways, the directions that our contractor gave us was to water at least twice a day until the lawn grows in. Then fertilize with Lesco Starter Fertilizer every 2 weeks for the first 2 months. The lawn did eventually come in nicely. We still have some bare patches where the rain hit that first evening. It's slowly filling in.

Anyways, here are the pictures...
